Operation and Installation



Pendent Sprinkler Head

Flexible connecting hose in standard lengths - allows the head to move in any direction during a seismic event without causing damage to the sprinkler system.
Typically, each unit consist of a threaded pipe nipple for connecting to the main or branch feeder line, a flexible hose in standard lengths, a reducing fitting that the sprinkler head attaches to, and a mounting bracket.

1. Operation

The operating mechanism is a made up of glass bulb which contains a heat responsive liquid, inside the heat responsive liquid it contain a small bubble. During a fire, the ambient temperature rises causing the Bubble in the liquid to expand.

When the ambient temperature reaches the rated temperature of the sprinkler, the bulb shatters which cause the water in the sprinkler system to flow through the deflector and create an umbrella spray pattern to kill the fire.

Each sprinkler is activated individually when it is heated to its design temperature. See the table below:


Upright Sprinkler Head

When the sprinkler burst, water from the system will pass through the open sprinkler. When the water hits the Sprinkler Deflector, the water will be deflected and cover an area of 12sq. metre.

The following type of Chrome plated quick response Glass Bulb Sprinkler is installed at the premises:

    - ½ inch, 68deg C, Pendent and Upright Sprinkler, K factor of sprinkler = 80, flow rate 70 L/Min
